How it works.
Once a district identifies a need, trained KidSense team members handle the entire screening process—from screenings and data collection to results and referrals when further evaluation is needed. Referrals may be managed by KidSense or the district, based on the agreed-upon scope of services.

Joseph and Stephanie have called Bakersfield home since the 1990s. Both graduates of local schools, they have deep roots in the community and remain actively involved in serving and supporting the people around them.
With a genuine love for children of all ages, Joseph and Stephanie are passionate about creating opportunities for every child to thrive, flourish, and reach their full potential.

For our family, it’s about more than just sight and sound. Making sure children receive the support they need is at the heart of our family values. With two children of our own that have special needs and benefited from early intervention, we have experienced firsthand the importance of being proactive rather than reactive.
That experience shapes our mission at KidSense: to support early identification through thorough, timely screening. Every child deserves the opportunity to fully access the world around them and engage in every learning experience. We take that mission seriously when it comes to helping children learn, grow, and thrive.
